The Jenks Chamber will host it's Women in Business Luncheon at noon on March 7th at the Hive.

This luncheon will host Teresa Nowlin, Marcae Hilton, and Assistant Chief Melissa Brown.

Assistant Chief Melissa Brown is currently the Assistant Chief of Police of the Jenks Police Department (JPD). She started her career in January of 2005 at JPD shortly after graduating from Northeastern State University with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. She later received a Maters of Science in Criminal Justice Administration also from Northeastern State University in 2010. During her career she has worked in every aspect in JPD including patrol officer, patrol supervisor, detective, detective supervisor, Public Information Officer, Crime Scene Investigator and Patrol Commander.

For going on 8 years, Teresa has been serving as the City Attorney for the City of Jenks. Prior to joining the City of Jenks team, she served as a senior assistant city attorney for the City of Tulsa, a federal law clerk for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma, and started her law career in commercial litigation at Norman Wohlgemuth law firm. She is a board member of the Oklahoma Association of Municipal Attorneys. Teresa is a proud graduate of Jenks High School and earned her JD from the University of Oklahoma with honors. She also holds a master’s and bachelor’s degree in music in musical theatre and performed professionally for a little while. Teresa has served as a board member and volunteer for several local nonprofits including Emergency Infant Services and Theatre Tulsa. Her proudest accomplishment is her 15 year old daughter, Abby. When she is not lawyering, Teresa enjoys traveling, scuba diving, singing and performing.

Marcae is the Jenks CIty Planner and is also a native of Oklahoma and still loves the view of rolling wheat fields and sod farms, which are plentiful in the area of the state where she grew up. After graduating from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design, she moved to Key West, Florida where she worked as a designer on all sizes of commercial and residential projects. Marcae then made her way back to Oklahoma and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Master’s Degree in Urban Design in 2011. Before coming the to the City of Jenks she worked as the City Planner for Bixby, OK and as the Staff Planner for Broken Arrow, OK.
